Do you have xdm running, or are you using kdm or gdm? Either will need XDMCP
enabled; I think in both cases it can be done via the GUI, or failing that for
gdm find

Enable=false

in /etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf and change it to 'true', and for kdm look for the same
in /etc/kde2/kdm/kdmrc and adjust the Xacess in the same directory.
