Between 0.8.6 and 0.9.6 you're better off removing your previous
installation and build directory, and starting fresh.
I'd recommend copying all of the tarballs you've already downloaded into a
cache directory, which you can point to with FILE_SITES in gar.conf.mk. That
way, you won't have to redownload stuff that hasn't been updated.
