Please !! Put it in the FAQ - make it a condition of membership to the
mailing list - threaten to take people's first born child if you like (I'm
open to offers on mine !!), but PLEASE do not make YACD (Yet Another Crappy
Disclaimer). The average signal-to-noise ratio on most messages is pretty
crappy as it is !!
While we're on the subject of the FAQ, can we put something in about
editing replies - not quoting the WHOLE message in order to add "I agree"
or something simple ?

I have often (as I'm sure SWMBO will attest to) been accused of having a
bizarre and "ecclectic" sense of humor, but even I found some of "the bile"
(to use a previous description) offensive, and a VERY bad attempt at humor.

I second that comment - it could be put down to a case of "ativating
fingers before putting brain into gear".

The whole problem is that SLUG, as a "legal entity", and the committee,
could have some legal liability, should a member (or the committee) of
LinuxChix seet fit to take serious offense (i.e. SLUG could find there
collective arses hung out to dry), not to mention the bad light that such
action would shine on Linux in general.
I would humbly suggest that the committee send a carefully worded, although
not too obsequous (sp), appology, expressing the collective regret of the
majority for the events that took place and any embarassment or offense caused.
Then I would suggest that this thread be allowed to die a natural death !!
