This is quite ironic. Years ago when Linux was first being ported to the Sparcs, the developers frantically got a compatible Sunos/Solaris system call compatibility layer working so that they could run Sunos/Solaris binaries. I remember it being a big deal when netscape could be run on a sparc linux box.
