First the Windows laptop. Windows 95 doesn't seem to have an ipconfig
command, but it does have winipcfg. Here's the output:
Host Name: X
DNS Servers: 139.134.5.51
Node Type: Hybrid
NetBios Scope Id:
IP Routing Enabled:
NetBIOS Resolution Uses DNS:
WINS Proxy Enabled:

Now the Linux box:

Also, dmesg on the linux box gives:

eth0: 3Com 3c900 Boomerang 10mbps Combo at 0x4000, 00:60:08:8f:ca:9c,
IRQ 11
8K word-wide RAM 3:5 Rx:Tx split, autoselect/10base2 interface.
Enabling bus-master trasmits and whole frame receives.
eth0: Initial media type 10baseT.
I'm using a simple twisted-pair crossover cable with RJ-45 plugs.
Currently both machines can ping localhost but neither can ping the
other. I was able to get a connection with my previous distribution
(Caldera 2.3) but not since I installed Debain Potato.
All suggestions gratefully received.
