If you do want to get Win XP to join the domain you will need to diasable signorseal in the registry. Search google for the reg or check the samba docs. Also if you are going to veto "." files there is a special format to get this to work with XP. Along with a complicated joining to domain procedure. But it does work in the end :) Can the original poster provide more details as to his exact samba setup?
