Funnily enough, Daniel Phillips has. He experiments with everything. :-) He
did mention that the hack was horrid though.

He started integrating some of the ideas into ext2/3. I think he saw the
success of ext3 compared to reiserfs and XFS, and realised it was the way to
go. But then, that's just my speculation based on what he's been up to
recently.
