I would like to thank slug on behalf of my class mates for the generous support that Slug has given us during the Linux professional course (LPIC) at Granville TAFE.
First we had Gus give up his spare time to talk about cron and Latex, emacs, and general questions on everything. Second we had Grant Parnel give up his time to talk about back ups, the why and the why not of backup, and general questions about everything Linux. Finally we have Jeff coming next week, talking about just about everything :-) It still amazes me the amount of support people give linux, not just talk. This has been a great course, the material was reasonably easy to digest helped by a group of enthusiastic students learning the same thing and loving the same OS. I highly recommend this to all professionals, as a brush up, as a entry into a proper admin job, or simply too learn a bit more. We are happy that Geoff is teaching us LPIC semester part II which reaches into the bowels of networking and those other things we really should learn how to do like firewalls, web servers, etc. Not just for the people going for an exam, I am still not sure whether I will take the test or not (wonder if work will pay???) To find out more about what I have learned or what I am going to learn please look at http://slug.org.au/training.shtml Thanks KenF -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group - http://slug.org.au/ More Info: http://lists.slug.org.au/listinfo/slug
