Hi all, Last night (about midnight) I wrote an email to ask whether anyone ever managed to get 'X windows` to install on debian, but was unable to send (Host unknown (name server: mx.inodes. org. : host not found))(isp fault) as I had just spent 5 hours trying to get it to work on woody. I had previously tried to get it to work with potato and woody on three other boxes without success. I gave up and retired; tonight I put two new nic's( in two boxes), turned on the box I had been working on, and it recognized the nic, booted into `X` and then kde. Why? Could I have saved hours of frustration by rebooting at some point last night? cheers Bill
