in the config for your dialup connection ( e.g.
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ppp0  for redhat) there should be a
couple of lines that say "REMIP" and "IPADDR". I'm assuming the "IPADDR" is
for you to specify an address to be used on that interface...the "REMIP"
would be the address of the gateway which you may need to also specify.

Has anyone set up a static IP dial-up connection using e-smith or even Red
Hat. I am setting up a test web server at home and have talked my ISP into
giving me a static IP but I don't know how to force it to use one CAN ANYONE
