the drivers all come with your nearest kernel source (and XFree86
server).

the motherboard should "just work" with most standard kernels. i
usually just compile in all those motherboard bug workarounds, and let
the kernel work out which ones i actually needed.

i'm guessing an SiS* graphics chip will use the "sis" XFree86 driver.

from a very quick websearch (something you could have tried yourself),
i think the ess1938 uses the "esssolo1" OSS driver. ALSA certainly has
an explicit driver for it, if you choose to go that route.
