Hi Paul, A great place to start your reading is at the Linux Documentation Project (http://www.tldp.org/). One of the first things I did was to download and work through some the books in the "Guides" section. And there's an amateur radio HOWTO here: http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/AX25-HOWTO/index.html I've also learned a lot from a general college textbook on Unix that also covers Linux. It wasn't cheap, about $90.00, but the detailed coverage is really helping me get the most out of my system. The book I found is Your Unix: The Ultimate Guide http://www.mhhe.com/engcs/compsci/das/ regards ===== mark a. bell http://www.users.bigpond.com/m487396 __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
