Hi Cool Linux People,
I don't think I can provide enough information to allow people
to come up with definitive answers, so I'm more asking how I might
approach troubleshooting this problem.
When displaying TV on my PC, xawtv loses sound after
a relatively short period of time. Oddly enough, it appears to me to
be related to my mouse. I've not played with it overly much, but a
small tap on the mouse usually brings sound back, with superstition
leading me to prefer X axis motion over Y axis motion. Occasionally
I have to give it a few tries, sometime interspersed with vigorous
mouse action. If all else fails, restarting xawtv always works.
I've not seen this behaviour for playing CD's, window manager bells
and chimes, or anywhere else. (Lack of
kernel/distro/sound-card/tv-tuner-card etc...
details is intentional, as I don't know what is important!)
Could this be related to interrupts??
Tips for approaching troubleshooting this?
Know of any good Linux sound FAQ's?
Thanks,
Tom
