Hi, Was wondering whether there is a general format for adding a 'system' user, i.e., one that just needs to run a daemon. Can you just edit the passwd and shadow files or should you use the 'useradd' facility? Does it really need a shell? Or is it safer to just use e.g., /bin/false?
