Meeting opened 7:30

Present:
Craige McWhirter
Jamie Wilkinson
Peter Hardy
Mary Gardiner
Tony Green
Jan Schmidt
Jeff Waugh (about 10 minutes late)

Previous minutes - accepted.

Todo:
        * Tony to finish meeting signs. Use the same design we had for
          the Workshop.
        * Mary - Still chasing down the right people at UTS about
storage space for signs and stuff.
        * Jan - Still looking for more quotes for camera and gear
        * Craige to get back to us with a privacy policy
        * Peter to update member register - waiting on privacy policy
New items:
        * Craige to decide on a registrar for the slug.org.au domain
        * Peter to update website with details of Linuxchix, Teens4tux,
          Michelle's law info.

Treasurer's report:
        * Jamie's waiting for forms from Dept. of Fair Trading. Once we
have those, we can change our Registered Public Officer, and
          re-incorporate.
        * Insurance has lapsed. Premiums will also be going up, but we
won't know the new rates until they've processed our
          application.

Monthly meeting:
        * Forum. Seemed to be a success. Ideas for future fora: Games,
distros. Other suggestions? Some of the more volatile topics
like distributions might need heavier moderation.
        * Adrian's talk went well. We had a few comments from members
who'd like to see more talks at that level.
        * We'd also like to keep the sluglets, with much the same
          format.
        * Apart from people getting lost, the room booking was pretty
good. Discussed the possibility of using those rooms again in
          future, decided against it.
        * Next month: Conrad Parker on sweep. Michelle Wibisono
          discussing legal issues.
        * Other possibilities: Craige to follow up contacts at IBM.
          Bruce Badger - Smalltalk.

Teens4tux:
        * We can arrange room bookings at UTS, but they'd like a lab
with access to PCs. Very doubtful we can arrange that.
        * We'd also like to assist with publicising their group. Offer
to help with funding. Suggestion to send mailouts to schools,
and teacher's publications. Ask teachers we have on the lists
          about how to publicise it.

slug.org.au:
        * We need to decide on a registrar.
        * Craige to organise a registrar, get registry key. Rumour has
          it Jamie Honan has these.
        * Make sure NIC handles are up to date.

Next Workshop:
Still trying to finalise top-secret venue.

Codefest:
We've had offers from UNSW to hold the next codefest. Need to
naildown a contact there, and get a room.

Meeting closes 8:15.
