Want to learn how to lead technical projects? ComputerBank NSW is holding a
prospective Project Leader orientation day, to give people wishing to lead
ComputerBank projects a chance to brush up on the skills and procedures
needed to kick off a CBNSW project and make it happen with a minimum of
mental anguish.

This is the first and probably final announcement of the Project Leader
Orientation Seminar, to be held by ComputerBank NSW on the 5th of October
2002. The day will start officially at 10am sharp. Informal meet-and-greet
will commence at 9am.

It will be held at Tricomm, 688 High St Penrith. whereis.com.au will show
you the way.

The presentation schedule is yet to be finalised, however the following
topics will be covered:

* Introduction to ComputerBank NSW

* Basics of Project Management

* Recipient processing

* Computer Hardware fundamentals

* Linux fundamentals

* The CBNSW Build process

There will also be an informal keysigning session to build the CBNSW web of
trust, and time to meet-and-greet other CBNSW volunteers. Information on
the whys and wheretofores of keysigning can be found at
http://ieee.uow.edu.au/~mjp16/misc/gpg_card.html and links from there.

There will be limited places available; to ensure there will be equipment
and training materials available to you, please e-mail me at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] to reserve your place.

As this is a ComputerBank NSW event, all attendees are expected to be
members of ComputerBank NSW. If you are not already a member, membership
forms will be available on the day.

I hope to see plenty of people there, to enhance the quality and quantity of
CBNSW projects. If you are not able to attend, the materials from the day
should be available on the web soon after the seminar (or maybe even
beforehand if I have the time).
