Hi,

I have problems with a couple of machines running
SMP kernels (2.4.x) and IRQ issues. When I boot the
machine with a 2.4.x kernel, it reports below:

PCI: Enabling device 00:07.2 (0000 -> 0001)
PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin D of device 00:07.2. Probably buggy MP table.

The card is an adaptec scsi card. lspci reports:

00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corp. 440BX/ZX - 82443BX/ZX Host bridge (rev 03)
00:01.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corp. 440BX/ZX - 82443BX/ZX AGP bridge (rev 03)
00:07.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corp. 82371AB PIIX4 ISA (rev 02)
00:07.1 IDE interface: Intel Corp. 82371AB PIIX4 IDE (rev 01)
00:07.2 USB Controller: Intel Corp. 82371AB PIIX4 USB (rev 01)
00:07.3 Bridge: Intel Corp. 82371AB PIIX4 ACPI (rev 02)
00:0d.0 PCI bridge: Intel Corp. 80960RP [i960 RP Microprocessor/Bridge] (rev 05)
00:0d.1 RAID bus controller: Mylex Corporation DAC960PX (rev 05)
00:10.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corp. 82557 [Ethernet Pro 100] (rev 08)
00:14.0 SCSI storage controller: Adaptec 7892A (rev 02)
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corp. i740 (rev 21)

The card reports 00:14.0. But it does not show up in dmesg, and I cannot
access the drive hanging off the card.

What does 'Probably buggy MP table' mean? Is this a bug in the kernel?

regards,

Campbell
