Notes is quite happy to have more than one name for a user. Can you get your administrator to set up a "short name" or an "alternative name". My username contains spaces and slashes though, and I Ximian Evolution can't seem to handle it. Nor am I having any luck manually trying to log in via telnetting to the imap port on the server.
