Hi,
I'm trying to load redhat on a celeron433 with 128meg and a 4gig HD. The
graphics and sound is onboard, sis5595 on the chip.
Everything loads well but redhat detects the chip as a sis620. I change
this manually back to 5595.
However, when I start gnome or kde I get screen redraw problems (with
multiple icons appearing and no redraw after openning and closing windows).
I've tried different memory setting for the sis5595 from 4meg to 16meg.
I've been looking throught the bios settings, but see nothing out of the
ordinary (AMI bios).
I have even gone back and loaded redhat 7, and debian and Mandrake...
same video problem...
any help would be welcome,
