Had a look, nothing much (useful) there.  There is a doc UNIX-SMB.txt
which says that "oplocking is not supported" which has been
wrong for a while.

Yeah, the no replies means either it's a FAQ or it's obvious,
or it's a prospect so scary that no-one is game to give an
opinion. :-(

Yep, that's it.  'Cept it ain't so sweetandfast.

"Should work" is what I thought, but the prospect of
silently mangling 15Gb of corporate documents is not
attractive.
