If I open two xterm sessions on box A and in one of the sessions I tcpdump the connection between box A and box B, whilst in the other session I ping box B, then I get no response to my ping but I can see the traffic in both directions in the tcpdump.
I'm guessing that that tells me that the NIC on box A is working OK, but I am stuffed as to why the ping reply is not getting back to its xterm. The routes all look good. -- Howard.
