Hi all,

Prior to installing Mandrake 9.0, I installed an IDE CDRW into my
system. The problem is that I can not always read cdroms.
This is the thing
I have 2 burners in this box, one is a SCSI 4x CDR
I have installed an IDE lite-on CDRW.
Mandrake has picked up both burners as burners.
Occasionally I can load perfectly working data cds without issue, but
other times they will not work. (Meaning that I can not read directory
structures)
if I use a term to ls the directory in a cdrom
I get the following error.

ls: /mnt/cdrom/1.mpg: No such file or directory

if I copy a file using cp /mnt/cdrom/1.mpg .

I get

cp: cannot stat `/mnt/cdrom/1.mpg': No such file or directoy

if I eject the cd a couple of times I can view the directory without
issue.

is this an issue because I have an IDE device trying to be addressed
"scsi"

Also I have noticed the follow error in /var/log/messages

Oct 27 21:43:10 jordan kernel: sg[0] - Addr 0x01481ae8 : Length 12
Oct 27 21:43:10 jordan kernel: (scsi0:A:4:0): data overrun detected in
Data-in phase.  Tag == 0x2.
Oct 27 21:43:10 jordan kernel: (scsi0:A:4:0): Have seen Data Phase.
Length = 12.  NumSGs = 1.

TIA

Kevin
