Yeah it had me stumped. I know for sure I didn't install any other languages on my system. It might be a bug in the installer.
I'll tell you what else is a little strange to me and totally has nothing to do with my current problem...but the installer installed the 2.4.18 kernel, the 2.4.18 kernel headers, the 2.4.19 kernel which it uses by default, but no headers...When I try to compile a new kernel module (like my NVidia drivers) they seem to work fine, but they are installed under the 2.4.18 kernel...When i seached the cd-roms for the 2.4.19 kernel headers none were supplied...instead I found another rpm of kernel headers for the 2.4.18-xx kernel! that makes it pretty hard to compile any drivers now unless I download the 2.4.19 kernel my self and then recompile! what a pain! anyway, back to the current problem....Yep there's the problem right there...what a pain! # rpm -qa | grep -i openoffice # OpenOffice.org-l10n-de-1.0.1-9mdk Thanks heaps for your help...I think I can bash this problem out myself. Its a shame...Mandrake 9.0 is probably the nicest distro i've seen yet, but so many stupid little problems! I didn't ask for the German version of OOO!! It kinda reminds me of Windows...You as for one thing but Windows is dead sure it knows what you want so it gives you that instead.
