I seem to be the only person in the entire universe to have done a successful mandrake 9.0 upgrade. So take this with a grain of salt I guess. Umm. It comes with KDE 3, GNOME 2, Apache 2, all sorts of other cool stuff. People seem to agree that Mandrake 8.2 is stabler, so I guess the better thing to do - if you're interested in playing with some of the new stuff is to install the urpmi, drakconf etc from the CD, and then use the software manager whatsit to install the bits of 9.0 that interest you. Redhat 8.0 looks pretty cool, but I didn't really want to migrate my computers to it. I like it a lot better than 8.2. I like it enough that the desktops it ships with have finally lured me away from window maker.
