Honestly my question is why develop for a browser, why not follow
the standards approved by the W3C? Then there is little issue reguardless
what clients use.

Reguarding web based galleries I have just downloaded My-eGallery
I have it plugged into phpnuke, it seems to be working fine on
Netscape and IE. The only thing is that I am not sure if it can run
without phpnuke.
