I run KDE on the server (although ultimately I would oneday like to have an
X-Windows free server). Should I still configure gdm?

My machines all run high specs, I wanted to share star office because

1. it would teach me how to serve apps
2. the first instance of star office takes awhile to open, but if it's already
open on the server then it should open instantly on the workstations. (that's
a theory I've been presented with)
3. I should be able to configure my printrers for star office at the server
and leave the workstations config free.

If I have strayed in any of my thinking, please let me know. From what I read
in Ken's reply, I can't simply create a link to app on the workstation
desktop and point it at star office on the server ?

DOH! Just found a problem with my network configs "con't connect to local
host" ! Speak later, thanks all.
