Is anyone else having problems with iptables sending LOG messages to the console as well as to /var/log/messages (which is the only place they should be going to). The default setting for target LOG is level 4 which I assume is either "warning" or "err", depending on where the lowest level sits.
The syslog.conf file only has *.emerg being directed anywhere other than to a file. Is this a problem with iptables, syslogd, or klogd? I can't find any reference to it, but it is persistent, and annoying, on a large number of machines, and a large number of RH distro versions. -- Howard.
