Basically if a serial mouse is not designed to work with both PS/2 and serial it
won't work on a PS/2 port with or without a converter. I would say the mouse is
a plain ole serial mouse with no ps/2 capabilities whatsoever. (Most newer
serial mouse have both protocols built in).

Has it worked on other OS (eg Rh7.3 or earlier)? If so, converter's probably
stuffed.
