There's a really nice perl module - Finance::Quote - that picks up the data (20 minutes delayed) from Yahoo or the ASX. It depends a bit what you want to do with the data. I was playing around with this a year or so ago and started building a website to do some fun slicing and dicing on the All Ords data, but got waylaid fairly early on.
