I've had a similar experience with those Via Edens (now running 7.3). They work like a charm. Everything is autodetected during installation wihtout any probs at all (except that I had to run my cdrom off another power supply because the case I have only has enough power for the MoBo, HDD and a slimline laptop style cdrom instead of a 5.25" one.
Added an extra NIC via the Riser card and it's now my firewall / router. Uptime at 31days and counting.
