Hi All, I have a couple of problems that I hope you can help me with:
1. a) I am trying to get Return to Castle Wolfenstein working with the native linux binaries. The single player mode works without a hitch *IF* I run it as root. If I run is as a normal user, it loads, I select 'play' and select the difficulty level, the game then starts loading, however when it gets to the end of the loading bar it crashes back to X and I lose my mouse...effectively having to restart X - this seems to be caused by gpm dying (I am using an Intellimouse Explorer USB), but it all works as root??? b) When I try and connect to a server to play Multiplayer, I get the error "Game Code (ui.mp.i386.so) failed pure server check". This occurs whether I am root or not... 2.I have a Pioneer 16x DVD slot drive and I recently set it and my burner up to use ide-scsi emulation and it now appears that my DVD drive is no longer working. Sometimes I can mount disks and read the cd, however I can't run anything off it, and other times I can't even mount it...Is this a problem with these drives and the emulation, or have I stuffed something up?? Im sure there was another thing, however I can think of it now... Cheers, Adam. -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group - http://slug.org.au/ More Info: http://lists.slug.org.au/listinfo/slug
