I had that problem on my Libranet box (which is basically Debian), and a
couple of other people on Libranet mailing list came across it as
well.I'm not sure what is the source of this problem, but I can offer
you a solution that worked for us. It isn't necessary to uninstall
anything - just run, as root: 
"dpkg-reconfigure -pmedium mozilla-browser"
