I can only guess as you have given very little information but: You're probably using Mandrake 9.0 and you probably set up a network at the same time as you set up your modem. The system is trying to use the LAN to connect to the net despite the modem connection. If it is Mandrake you can fix the problem with the control centre. Just make sure it says that you connect to the net via the modem. If this does not fix the problem then you may need to remove all reference to the LAN and just set up the modem. Get it working properly and then carefully set up the LAN card again. -- Stay well and happy Heracles
