Hi All, I'm writing from my wife's Mandarke 9.0 machine, while mine goes through it's debian install.
Some people want to know what I didn't like about RedHat 8.0 and why I want to change to Debian. I'm pleasantly surprised by the amount of interest generated and feel that more than likely, my response will disappoint, rather than enlighten. In brief; One desktop does not fit all "Custom Install" should be just that. Sound that worked last release, should work in the following release. But let me sum it up neatly. Some of my Windows friends aren't happy about XP, they hate it, but there stuck cause it cost them a shitload to buy and they have no option, there is only one Microsoft Windows released every 4(?) years and apart from about 6 gig of security updates every few months, that's it. Linux gives me choices, I'm not stuck. So in the end it's simply a decision to see what other distros offer see if there's something out there to put a linux smile back on my dial.
