If I'm not horribly mistaken, you can use the same /boot
amongst all your bootable linuxes on the same machine.

If you didn't do this, then installing another linux, and 
having it install grub, say, would mean losing access to the
others, until you updated /boot/grub/grub.conf manually.

I can see that different distros might mangle grub.conf in
incompatible ways though.  But stick to the same distro
and I hope you'd be ok.

The above location of grub.conf is for redhat8, dunno
where others put it.
