I don't have rh8.0 installed anywhere yet, but I've just looked at my
rh7.3 kernel and found that they didn't include an msdos module in the
default kernel. They did, however, include vfat, so try using "vfat"
instead of "msdos".
If there's an entry like this:
/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto noauto,owner,user,nosuid 0 0
in /etc/fstab, then all you need to do is run:
mount /mnt/floppy
and it will auto-detect the filesystem type.
