Dear SLUG Members and Subscribers,

Recently, the SLUG committee received a request from the GNU Foundation that
we acknowledge the true origins of the operating system we promote.
Accordingly, they asked that we rename ourselves to the Sydney Gnu/Linux
Users' Group.

After some discussion amongst the new committee, we have decided to clarify
our nomenclature by changing the name to the Sydney Users of the Linux
Kernel. Accordingly, over the next month, SLUG will be renamed to SULK.

The process for this name change will be as follows:

Tomorrow, the new domain name www.sulk.org.au will be delegated, and the
mailing lists configuration will be changed. All current subscriptions will
be automatically migrated, and @slug.org.au addresses will continue to work
until next month. After that, the primary mailing list addresses will be
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and [EMAIL PROTECTED]

At the next meeting, we ask that anyone who has already received their
membership card for the year bring it along to be replaced with a new
sulk.org.au card.

The proposed new SULK logo can be found at
http://www.slug.org.au/sulk-logo.png
That, and the other website changes, will be done over the next week.

We apologise for the disruption that this name change will cause, but we
hope you'll agree that it is unavoidable given the circumstances.

Regards,
SLUG Committee
