I have no experience with swiftel -- but I can tell you that: A) All ADSL services that use standard PPPoE/A will work with Linux. B) Pretty much none of them will help you set it up in Linux. C) The modems, such as the D-Link DSL-300, that do PPPoE/A authentication for you -- where you simply get your system to use a CAT5 crossover with DHCP is probably the best kind of modem in terms of compatibility.
