Hi All,
I seem to be having mysterious problems with my video.
One problem is When I launch into X, then Ctrl+Alt+F2(F3,F4 etc) to switch
to a console, the console has display problems. Its hard to describe, but
its like at every block there is 4 white dots, and in some blocks there is
coloured blocked, purple, green etc. The console is fine when I first boot
up, its once quitting, or crashing out of X that causes the problem.

I am running Debian Woody Unstable, and last night apt-get update &&
apt-get upgrade, but I don't think that had anything to do with it.

Two other suspected problems are:
I have been playing RTCW Enemy Territory, and it would lock up for about
30 seconds, then either My keyboard & mouse wouldn't work, So I would ssh
in from another machine, kill off all my processes one by one, and the
screen would just lock, reboot was the only cure. or the textures would
screw up.

I had put the above problem down to the game, but I have recently been
having the same problem in X. After leaving the machine for a while, I
would come back and the monitor would power on, but X would have frozen,
the mouse worked, but Ctrl+Alt+F2, CTRL+ALT+BK Space didn't work.

I am thinking it is the video card, Has anyone had any similar problems? I
have a GeForce 4 Ti4200.

Also, is there any programs in Linux that will stress test the video card
so I can determine if the above is hardware related problems?

Thanks,

Scott
