[SLUG] mandrake 9.1 cdrom and sound

This sounds like two dumb questions. After years of using RedHat i have set a machine up with mandrake.   Two simple problems:   1) No sound - Yet card is configured correctly and volume is set above 0.   2) Cd drives cannot be read from.
