That's what I thought, but do it's not actually clear to me
whether transcode comes with the necessary import/export modules.
Certainly, the .so's are in /usr/lib/transcode/, but transcode
claims not to know how to handle the dv2 avi's I pulled from
my mini-dv cam with kino.  I'll give you the exact error message
when I get back home.

There are other questions, too, like what are the best parameters
to get the maximum quality when going from 1 hour dv tape (13Gb
of dv2 avi's) to a cdrom sized (650Mb) divx.  And what options
would give the best probability of being able to play the result
on a divx (or vcd) capable dvd player

transcode looks like the most complete, and it's fine my for current
purpose, which is to essanetially back up all of my tapes to cdrom.
