thanks, Jeff

in RH7.3 i have:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] vhosts]# /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd
Usage: httpd {start|stop|restart|condrestart|reload|status|fullstatus|graceful|h
elp|configtest}

so, it's reasonable to assume that all the files in /etc/rc.d/init.d serve
similar purpose

do I need to _remember_ this path, or, is there a way of working it out
from something ?
