I had a look in
cat /usr/share/cups/model/canon/readme
and found this info
./canon/cnps3r51.ppd
*ModelName: "Canon PS-IPU III for CLC550"
*NickName: "Canon PS-IPU III for CLC550"
first line is the print driver in cups the second and third are the name
and model etc.
This is on Mandrake 9.1
