Inspired by Mary's recent post I've done some benchmarking of my own.
When I have the time I'll put some of the results up to the list. In the
meantime, here is a short synopsis:

1) ext2 beats all the journal filesystems by a wide margin.
2) Plenty of memory negates most of a filesystems performance concerns.

aside 1) SCSI beats ide (still).
aside 2) Each benchmark I did indicated more items of interest could be
discovered by doing more benchmarking :(
