Inspired by Mary's recent post I've done some benchmarking of my own. When I have the time I'll put some of the results up to the list. In the meantime, here is a short synopsis: 1) ext2 beats all the journal filesystems by a wide margin. 2) Plenty of memory negates most of a filesystems performance concerns. aside 1) SCSI beats ide (still). aside 2) Each benchmark I did indicated more items of interest could be discovered by doing more benchmarking :( Cheers, Malcolm V. -- SLUG - Sydney Linux User's Group - http://slug.org.au/ More Info: http://lists.slug.org.au/listinfo/slug
