It all began when I was quoted $1200 for a copy of CorelDraw9 for Linux. I alreadt have a copy of CorelDraw9. For Windows.
When I gave up MS, I did so completely, on the grounds that I'd force myself to learn what I needed in Linux. The machine has only Linux on it. RedHat8, since you ask. So someone suggested that I use the CorelDraw for Windows using a Windows emulator. I'm not sure that I understand what an emulator does. What I've read about them suggests that they're Windows lookalikes, written for those that have pangs about what they forsook. (Sorry about that description, it wasn't meant to sound the way it does.) So, my question is: would it be possible to run CorelDraw for Windows through an emulator? I assume that someone has had experience in the matter. Even neutral/bad/positively appalling/much worse than $1200 worth would be helpful.
