html and other non plain-text formats should probably be rejected rather
than convered.
However, for palm-pilots, presumably this list isn't the only source of
html mail. If you're in a position to do so you should probably figure
out a way to produce palm-friendly versions of your emails at your inbox.
Are you downloading directly onto your palm pilot, or does the mail come
to some (preferably nix) machine first?
