Sounds like you're on a DSL connection?


This error message usually means the other end of the PPPoE link isn't terminated properly (by an access concentrator). It may also be related to not having the correct kernel ppp modules loaded. Make sure you have all of these installed.

First time I have had to setup ppp on Mandrake 9.1, can do it without
troble on redhat and can't seem to figure out why I can't set it up on
here.

I'm not sure about Redhat or Mandrake, and whether they have any special tools for this (they probably do), but you probably have /usr/sbin/pppoeconf installed. Try configuring your link with this.


Trying to get it connection to Comindico Network so there is no CHAP it is
all done with PAP.

Are you sure? Can you connect from a windows/other box? Is the Sync light on on the ADSL modem.
