This used to work, but somewhere along the way has gotten broken...
---
Whenever I try to add a windows client system to my SAMBA domain, I get the error

The following error occurred validating the name "DSTALKER".
This condition may be caused by a DNS lookup problem. <link to page on Microsoft site>

The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.
---

Does anyone know what the client is actually looking for?  I've installed and configured named on the Linux server, and DNS works just fine; from the client I can resolve DSTALKER to the correct IP address, and ping it just fine.  I can even access the SMB shares on the server fine.  What could be causing this problem, and how can I fix it?

(Using RedHat 9.0 Samba 3.0RC2, Windows 2000 clients)
