At the SLUG meeting this Friday 26th September, there will an election to fill the 2 vacant positions for "General Committee" members.
We are looking for candidates who enjoy SLUG, and would like to be involved in ensuring that SLUG remains a fun place to promote and support Linux and Open Source Software in Sydney. If you would like to nominate someone, or would like to announce your willingness to nominate, please email [EMAIL PROTECTED] and let us all know! Regards, The SLUG committee. --- Summary of election procedure: - Please send nominations to [EMAIL PROTECTED] or nominate the candidate at the meeting on Friday. Check with them first to make sure they are willing to be on SLUG committee. - All candidates must be financial members of SLUG for 2003 by the time of the election. - All people voting in the election must be financial members of SLUG at the time of the election. Please bring your membership card along, or join on the night. - If two or less than two nominations are made and accepted, the nominees will be declared elected. - If more than two nominations are made and accepted, the election will be conducted via a show of hands at the next SLUG meeting: Friday 26th September, 2003, at 7pm, with each financial member in attendance getting two votes. You can become a financial member on the night by paying Jamie Wilkinson the membership fee. Since this meeting falls six months after the AGM, you will only need to pay half a year's membership fee -- $12.50, which will cover membership until the AGM in March 2004.
