Is that you Jon?

One advantage of gentoo is being able to globally configure what's
compiled in to packages. Modular packages in debian either depend of
lots of libraries that you never need, like libmysqlclient which is
installed on my system because it's an option compiled in to some
package, or are missing options that you would like.

Everyone know postgres is better than mysql, vim is better than emacs,
debian is the one true distro.
